 The Limerick Market Trustees are planning to re-open the Milk Market under cover of the new canopy on Sat 19th June 2010.
Tony Scott, the LMT Project Manager, expects the re-developed market space to be a great venue for markets on Friday afternoons, Saturdays and Sundays and other evenys during the other days of the week.
The LMT have :-
commissioned and erected Ireland's largest single mast, canopy structure to weather proof the market courtyard;
designed new stalls for traders;
installed power and water for traders;
constructed 5 pavilion units within the courtyard;
plan to increase market days by adding Friday afternoon/early evening, extending Saturdays and relocating the Riverside Market on Sundays from Bedford Row to the Milk Market location; and
used a mix of traditional and modern materials.
